Artist-led field trip in Rheinsberg, Germany:
In preparation of her event, artist Marike Schreiber mainly took bike trips to the area or went for test walks with her family, to, among other things, figure out the walking distance of her “family friendly trip.” Marike lives in a small village close to Stechlin lake, the Rheinsberg nuclear power plant and the Leibniz-Institut in Neuglobsow. She completed some research trips to Rheinberg and Menz with a private car, as the regional public transport system in the border region of Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a bit underdeveloped. These trips by car weren’t accounted for.
During her artist-led field trip, local fish and water were served. It was a Sunday, and we also served fresh bread that was brought from Berlin by our producer Karoline by train.
As the trip started at Rheinsberg train station and ended at the Neuglobsow bus station, the audience and the SALT. CLAY. ROCK. team arrived by train. The group could travel between stations with the “Rufbus” (on-call bus) that serviced the area. Some people arrived by private car.
