Virág from the curatorial team joined the film-shooting week for the production of Krisztina Erdei and Dániel Misota’s work. She also had a mandate from Elie, the climate officer, to observe and document everything for the purposes of later climate accounting. She arrived by train from Berlin and was picked up in Budapest by one of the participants who was transporting equipment, who drove her to Bátaapáti. The rest of the team also drove from Budapest to Bátaapáti with equipment and props in another private car. They stayed for three nights in an apartment with three rooms, a kitchen equipped with a gas oven, and one bathroom—all meticulously photographed for future CO₂ calculations. We all traveled back to Budapest together in one car. There wasn’t much film equipment: the shoot was done with a mobile phone and natural light—all in all, a minimalistic setup. As it was a participatory film shoot, several community members helped with transporting people and equipment, and a Trabant owner came from somewhere in the region for the filming. Kriszta’s partner also joined the shoot to support the production; we all used his car. At lunch in the local restaurant, they told us about all the preparatory work that had gone into the project. Neither the lunch, nor the generous community support, nor the emissions related to this preparatory or unpaid work will appear in our CO₂ balance.

Emissions from this film shooting weekend: 283,5 kg CO₂e
